Rollout Plan and Evaluation Plan

The Rollout Plan part of the project was overall more familiar-feeling than the first two parts, because of my previous work as Experience Design Director / UX Strategist. Though I’ve always partnered with Project Management, I’ve been the representative for design when it comes to things like planning for design process and work requirements, staffing, and time estimates, with a lot of cross-disciplinary work to ensure the roles we needed were represented and their tasks were clear.

I was very detailed in my breakout of key tasks in the Rollout Plan because I wanted to make sure I had a log of all the things that would go into this if it were incorporated by a company with many resources. That said, I will likely need to create a much more streamlined version of this - an MVP version that can be created by two people, because I am currently planning on partnering with one person who can create the AI-driven aspects of this course. So, we will likely be wearing multiple hats.

On the Platform

I’m making assumptions about Canvas for Teachers and H5P based on what they say they offer- I don’t yet have experience with those platforms. I plan to try them out over the next 2 months and refine this plan if needed.

On the Evaluation Plan

The Evaluation Plan also generally felt familiar as I’ve worked as a UX strategist who must always be gathering data on user experience and keeping focus on business objectives. It was very helpful to use the lens of the Kirkpatrick model though, to ensure I was considering this from a digital instructional design focus.

Feedback and Iteration

At first I was missing a more detailed plan for Accessibility Evaluation, and the step of talking about expected insights and the action plan we’d take if certain things are found (like low engagement rates, etc). I wasn’t sure at first how useful the latter would be, but once I dug into it I saw that it would be VERY useful so someone encountering those issues had a head start on mitigating them.
