This section describes the initial steps in designing an online course for medical professionals looking to use AI in their treatment plans for adults experiencing symptoms that indicate new allergies. It covers the learner personas, business challenges, and overall learning goals. It also outlines a modular framework for the course, its topics, and an overview of the learning experience.

Adult-onset allergies are a growing yet often under-recognized health issue, presenting unique challenges in diagnosis and management due to their complex triggers and late onset. Many healthcare providers and nutritionists lack the tools or training to effectively personalize treatment plans for these patients, leading to misdiagnosis, delayed care, or suboptimal outcomes.
Traditional approaches to allergy management are often time-consuming and fail to address the multifactorial nature of adult-onset allergies, such as the interplay between environmental exposures, food sensitivities, hormonal changes, and immune responses.
By integrating AI into clinical and nutritional workflows, professionals can enhance diagnostic precision, streamline care planning, and deliver tailored solutions that improve patient outcomes while addressing the increasing complexity of modern allergy care.

Medical professionals lack skills on integrating AI tools and technology to provide optimal, personalized allergy management plans. Being able to do so would be especially helpful for patients with new allergy development later in life, when hormonal changes, diet, and drug interactions can make diagnosis and management particularly complex.
Our learners’ entry level is expected to be Levels 1 or 2 with regards to allergies in general in that they will REMEMBER different types of allergies and UNDERSTAND the concepts of triggers and treatment, but with a gap on both how they apply that knowledge to adult-onset allergies specifically, and how to use AI to diagnose them and to create treatment plans.
The target levels at the end of this course will be Level 3 for adult-onset allergies specifically in that they should be able to APPLY their knowledge of allergies to adults; and Level 5 for use of AI in diagnosis and care in that they’ll be able to CREATE personalized treatment plans, strategies for AI incorporation into workflows, and communication materials for peers and patients.
